Credit to New Pop Stars
Why don't you introduce and tell me a little bit about
yourself.
My name is Dahvin , friends call me "dahv". I am almost 11 and
going into the 6th grade. I like to sing Rock, Country , Pop...but I
especially like Rap. I play the guitar and I like to dance hip hop.
Can you tell us about what you have been working on lately?
I have been working on 4 rap songs....I just finished rapping a
song called "Slumber Party" My producer Jesse James is a lot of fun to
work with and he has taught me a lot about rap. I am also working on
another song called "7654321" and that is by
Gary Carolla
who produced music for Aaron Carter, Stevie Brock, BSB and a ton of
other artists.
When did you decide you wanted to be a performer and how did you
break into the business?
I've been performing since the age of 4...almost 5. I started out
performing in Plays. One of my favorite plays was "Madeline"...I was one
of the 12 girls. I have always like to sing and do shows. I've had a web
site since I was in Kindergarten (http://www.dahv.com/) ... and most
people know me through my web site just from visiting it.
Where and what was your very first performance like?
I've had many performances, but I would have to say the show I did in
Peabody Massachusetts felt like my first REAL performance. I was on
stage and there were a lot of lights on me and most of the people in the
audience I did not know. I knew then that I wanted to be on stage
forever.
How would you describe your musical style?
I think I have many different styles, but with rap I can really let it
go and have a bit of an attitude..which is a lot of fun for me. I also
like to sing about things that are fun and silly.
Not only do you sing, but you also rap. Do you think that sets you
apart from a lot of other solo female artists and what are some of your
favorite lyrics?
I really want to be a great role model for kids. I want kids to know
that not all Rap is about drugs and sex...and that rap can be about
things that drive you crazy...like boys, your parents, food fights or
whatever! I really want people to enjoy the songs . I think it would be
great if kids would sing along and play jump rope with them or
something... My favorite lyric ... well... I have this wild relationship
with my dad and he can drive me crazy as most dads do. So it's from the
song "Don't Trip Dad" and there is a section of the song where I'm
telling my dad to stay out of room and stop bugging me and it goes like
this ... 'Quit sniffing around my room like 'rover' and when you don't
find nothing, I'll be like I told ya!' - I love that line!
Can you describe what your live show is like?
I have a lot of energy and tend to jump around the stage a lot!!! When I
see people's faces & hear them sing along or laugh cause they like my
lyrics - it give me 'superpowers' - kind of like a super hero!
You have recorded a few songs already, which one is your favorite and
why?
I really like "Don't Trip Dad" a lot. I also like "Who's That" because
the song is full of attitude!
Do you have any celebrity crushes?
I have a couple of crushes...I like the kid who was in Peter
Pan...Jeremy Sumpter.
If you were asked to plan your ideal tour, which other artists would you
take on the road with you?
I would like to take along anyone who is fun! AJ Gil was great!!! AJ is
just so humble and one of the most polite boys I have ever met. I also
think it would be fun to be with Avril Lavigne or Jessica Simpson.
If you could ask any celebrity one question, who would it be and what
would you ask?
I love Amanda Bynes and Ben Stiller. I would ask them how do they get so
many great ideas. I think they are both really funny.
Is their one interview question you wish you'd never have to answer
again?
Someone asked me once if I had a boyfriend...and I got really
embarrassed. So please don't ask me that - I'm only 10 years old!
When all is said and done, what do you want to be known for?
I would want people to be entertained by me and I would like to make
them laugh and be happy.
Lastly is there anything you would like to say to the fans?
